Joyce is a K-12 educator and also a mother to two boys, one of whom has complex communication needs. She believes in the importance of educating people about ableism, disability, and the use of technology. Joyce is currently a graduate student in the Master of Educational Technology program at the University of British Columbia. She is a member of the International Society for Augmentative and Alternative Communication (ISAAC) and a passionate advocate for disabled children. Joyce is committed to working with children with all abilities. She believes it is important to provide children with opportunities to develop literacy skills, connect and communicate with others, and be able to participate meaningfully in society.
